Lola Z. Stanley -- Age 66, died peacefully Dec. 18, 2008, at home surrounded by her family. She fought a brave battle against cancer for over 6 years. A celebration of her life will be held at the Shirley Brothers (Fishers/Castleton) Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Fishers Indiana on Sun, Dec 21 from 3-7 PM, with the funeral service to be held on Mon, Dec 22 at 2 PM. The service will be conducted by family member, Richard Ostella, Pastor of the Westminster Reformed Church, Dearborn Heights, Michigan. Lola was born Dec 3, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Bernice Parker-King. She graduated in 1960 from Williamsburg High School in Ohio. After graduating from modeling school in Cincinnati, she married Bill Stanley on Jan 6, 1962 and they moved in 1966 to the Indianapolis area, eventually settling in Carmel, Indiana. For over 30 years, she worked in the health insurance industry for John Hancock, the Principal Financial Group and other insurers. Lola devoted many years doing charitable work through her sorority. In 1982 she served as president of Delta XI, the Indianapolis Chapter of the Delta Chi Sigma Sorority, and in 1989 was elected president of the Indiana Province of that sorority. The organizations charitable mission benefits children with Juvenile Arthritis. But, Lolas ultimate mission in life was caring for and loving her husband, her daughters and her grandchildren.
